How To Get Here

Boat or water taxi-only access to the island ensures your peace and privacy for those who wish to get away from it all. Please note that transportation costs are not included with your stay and need to be arranged prior to your stay with us.

It takes approximately 50 minutes by private water taxi to reach us in Whekenui Bay.

You can also book the Mail Boat Cruise from Picton on Tuesdays and Fridays leaving Picton around 1.30pm. This leisurely trip to Arapawa takes approximately 1.5 hours, and the return trip travels via Ship Cove, which takes about 3 hours.

We will meet you at our jetty on your arrival and will transport your belongings to your chosen holiday home.

If you are coming to Whekenui Bay in your own boat you would launch at Waikawa Marina and head out into the Queen Charlotte Sound, turning right at Tory Channel. Travel approximately 10km also to the entrance to Cook Strait. Our wharf is located to the left of the leading lights, on the left side of the channel going out. Dinghy is included in the tariff.

For a quick trip from Wellington, indulge in a short helicopter ride to the island.
