Paua Farm Tours
After a short level walk (no hiking) towards the homestead, via the 100 year + old pohutukawa grove we will invite you into our home and provide some delicious home baking and hot or cold drinks for your liking. At your leisure one can take in the breathtaking surrounds of Whekenui Bay and its panorama outlook towards the entrance into Cook Strait.
Soon after this we’ll show you our promotional video which is around eight minutes long. Here you will learn about the paua life cycle, the process of growing the paua pearls and how we work together as a family. After some Q & A we can take you to our very own unique pearl shop where we display many kinds of single pearls, pendants and earrings for purchase either in 9 or 18kt gold or stirling silver. The jewellers are from the local area.
We then take you into our actual paua farm where you can visit and see live adult size paua living in tanks with our tipper bucket invention on display! Prepare for a wet environment and surprise splashing. You could even get a chance to see a presentation of tiny baby paua in our Hatchery. Finally our pet longfin eels can give you a very exciting act that attracts all crowds and different ages.
Folks who have their own boat can book with us personally.

Great hosts. Were fantastic to deal with and quick to respond to any queries. Was lovely to meet the whole family. Everyone was so friendly and the greeting at the wharf as we arrived and the warm house with fire on was an added bonus. Awesome to have been shown around the amazing paua pearl business too. Thanks so much for your kind hospitality. Sept 2017.
